Kom på writing camp på Færøerne med musikskabere fra hele Norden!

We would like to invite you to apply for the second edition of this Nordic Music Camp that again will take place on the Faroe Islands known for its spectacular nature, scenic landscape and rich music culture. The camp will take place from 7-13th of April this year.

 

The Nordic Music Camp will bring together music creators from all the Nordic countries. Our vision is to strengthen the connection between Nordic music creators and by holding the camp at the Faroe Islands, allow us to enter a creative space away from any daily distractions and to be at one with the surrounding nature and each other.

 

The camp will take place at the Hotel Nord in Viðareiði, which is where we will also live throughout the duration of the camp.

There will be 2 participants from each Nordic country and sessions will take place during 3 days (8th-10th ) You will arrive on the 7th, we pick you up in the airport and there will be a sightseeing around the islands, so you get to know the surroundings before arriving to the hotel. That evening will be a chance to set up and spend some time getting to know each other. Friday the 11th we travel to Klaksvik and go to the local swimming hall and have a listening session together at venue Varpið – and concerts with local Faroese artists. Saturday we are in the capital Thorshavn and attend SEMENT a talent competition for Faroese musicians arranged by Faroese Music Export. (Detailed schedule will be send out to the chosen participants).

With this camp we are aiming for a creative, open and generous atmosphere and in each session, you will be writing for the attending artist. We also aim for a well-balanced representation for this camp.

 

Meals, accommodation and travels to and from the Faroe Islands from each respective country will be arranged and paid by us. But to ensure your place should you be admitted to the camp, there is an attendance fee of 2.500 DKK to be paid, that will go towards supporting the camp. It is possible to apply for funding.
